October, the scariest month of the year, where we dress up as a vast array of mythical creatures and horrifying monsters. But how can we enjoy the celebrations without scaring our environment?
Halloween, of course only comes around once a year, so the need for buying excessive amounts of items, especially those of the single-use plastic kind, which will more than likely end up as waste, is not a necessity.
Instead, why not rummage through your wardrobes, be creative with your costume and create your own, we bet it will give you a great sense of satisfaction and we are sure it will look great!
You can also use old clothing and packaging to create decorations; think old tights & socks for spiders webs, t-shirts for ghosts, egg trays for google eyes and cardboard boxes for tombstones.
When it comes to Trick or Treating (treating only we hope!) A fantastic sustainability tip is to use produce with the least amount of packaging and to ensure that the chocolate and sugar are from sustainable sources.
Happy Halloween!
